MacPPP: Common Modems
Some modems will need settings that differ from those in the standard
MacPPP configuration. The three items that will generally differ are the
Port Speed, Flow Control, and Modem Init, all of which can be set on the
PPP Server "Config" dialog box.
Note that inclusion of a modem in this list does not
constitute an endorsement of that modem; in fact, I specifically do not
recommend any of the Apple brand modems listed, and I don't care for the
Global Village modems, either.

** Note: If you are having a problem with connections using the Silver,
Gold or Mercury modems, try using the predial init above and adding a %C0
(that's a zero) to the end of the init string. This is often needed when
connecting to UNIX systems.
